Purity is a perfect fiber animal for an artist looking to have a small herd to give you an annual supply to work with. She is beautiful and graceful with a vicuna-type head she has passed to her offspring. She's an easy keeper and a great mother. The reason she is being sold as a fiber animal is because she has crinkle* in her fiber. Crinkle is a benefit when processing into yarn because it has more "grab." For this reason, she is perfect for a fiber artist! She is also beige, which means you can easily dye her fiber a rainbow of colors or leave it natural cream.

Please realize that alpacas are herd animals and get stressed if kept alone. Stress makes the fiber tender, causing it to break in processing (plus it's just not fair to the animal). If you need another alpaca to accompany Purity, consider her first daughter: Mocha! She is dark brown, giving you another color to work with. Both can be purchased together for a package deal of $700.

*Crinkle: amplitude along the fiber shaft.

Suri alpaca fiber is supposed to be very straight and slick, with very little amplitude along the fiber shaft, giving the yarn a very compact, slick, cool feel. Crinkle adds loft to the yarn, making the hand more fluffy and warm. We are trying to preserve the Suri alpaca phenotype, so she doesn't fit in our breeding program.

Please understand that since these animals possess traits that are not reflective of purebred Suri alpacas, if you choose to continue to breed them I will not facilitate registering their offspring. I can show you her certificate, but will not transfer her registration (I will inform the registry that she was sold without transfer).

12 month financing at 0%. Animals remain on our property until paid in full. $50/month agistment (boarding) rates apply.
