Leona has a very stately and commanding presence. Her incredible dark lovely red fiber is lustrous and strikingly beautiful, with amazing fineness and handle. She has black points with promise of producing very dark-colored offspring. Her first breeding with Full Peruvian Elijah the Tishbite(Hakeen X Isadora from Maplewood Farm/Vickers) produced a True Black Female, named Touch of Midas. Her second cria (07/14/05), another female, Katrina of Brimstone, which is very dark reddish brown with black points. The herdsire was our own, SSF Pardner's Brimstone (Pardner and Woodsedge Nouvelle from Seldom Scene Farm/Hubers), and was rebred to Brimstone which resulted in a repeat of her Grandsire - Pardner, only female named Lovely Lorena. She most recently produced an excpetional Beige Female, Athena, when bred to MacGyvers Armed & Dangerous.
Lovely Leona was sired by one of the World's most famous Suri Alpaca Herdsires, Panam's Midas Touch(True Black) and her Dam was Peruvian Dorotea (WH), daughter of Joaquin who was the backbone of the Maplewood Farm Suri Breeding Program since the very first Peruvian importation.
