My name is Denise Coonley and I love fiber. :-) When my husband and I started our farm 4 years ago we were like most folks in the alpaca business. Breed, sell, get rich- lol, but what do we do with all of this wonderful fiber? Well, being married to a type A personality I can tell you what you don't do. You don't let it wait around for the fiber fairy in the barn because she just doesn't show up. So, I took every class I could find that would teach me a different way of making something out of this incredible fleece. I learned to spin. I learned to weave. I learned to wet felt and needle felt. And then I found the Feltloom. So now, I make my own fabric and make everything from Kindle Covers to custom coats. I love to share my fiber knowledge and will talk about fiber all day long. I also offer classes on the different felting processes. I'm a member of CIABA, Alpaca United and AOBA. I believe if we all work together we can make the fiber industry happen both commercially and cottage industry-wise.
