Since his first appearance in the show ring, Whitman of Eagle Bend has gained the attention of the judges. In both of his first shows as a juvenile, he placed 2nd in large white classes. As a yearling, he took 1st place in very competitive fleece and halter classes. Boasting an AFD of 14.8 as a juvenile, Whitman continues to produce very fine, high-frequency fleece, with the crimp architecture that is desirable in our industry. Whitman is a powerhouse of proven genetics - Hemingway, Caligula, Victor, and Pachacuti, to name a few of his bloodlines. Both his sire and dam are show champions.
Because he bears the stellar genetic and phenotypical traits we desire for our breeding program, we have joined in partnership with Eagle Bend Alpacas on this outstanding male.
Whitman's first cria arrived May 2012, and he now has three crias on the ground with many more coming in 2013. All three of his crias - ALL GIRLS - have fabulous fleece!! He appears to be doing what we hoped for; he is throwing himself!
