Our Mission Statement:

QUALITY, is THE way to succeed in the alpaca business. As Kentucky's Largest and Most Experienced Alpaca Breeder, we offer a fantastic variety of award-winning alpacas, great customer service and support. We have been developing our herd fsince 1994, buying the best from farms across the USA and breeding many champions and auction high-sellers.

Farm Description:

Seldom Scene Farm was founded when Paul became the second owner of our property, first deeded in the Virginia Land Grant.  We started our marriage living in the 1812 log cabin and housing our starter herd in a rickety tobacco barn.  As our farm has achieved growth and success, we have now acquired a total of 400 acres with about every kind of alpaca shelter you'll see including two well-used tobacco barns, and highlighted by our new Show Barn.

Although we may now appear to be "big", we do remember what it was like to begin our alpaca endeavor with just a few animals and the faith that alpacas would provide a wonderful lifestyle and a good business.  After nearly 350 crias born, our goals have been exceeded!  We have a busy family life, but try to make time for visitiors both "seasoned" and brand-new!

Fiber has always been emphasized, and Lindy is a spinner, knitter, felter and dyer who also teaches occasional classes in her Fiber and Education Studio.  Check out our Schedule of Events!

Directions to our Farm:

Please call for directions.   We are located just 15 minutes and about 3 turns from I-64 near Frankfort, Versailles, and Lexington in Central Kentucky's beautiful bluegrass horse country.  Historic Woodford Reserve Distillery is just 3 miles up the road!
