Kentucky Health Requirements
KY Health requirements changed in 2012 – please read carefully.
There will be a representative from the state to check your health papers as you arrive.

Alpacas from within Kentucky:
1. Health Certificate (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) dated within 30 days of the last day of the show.
2. Alpaca name and microchip number for each alpaca must be on the health certificate. Bring a copy of the health certificate for show superintendent to retain.
3. A Negative PCR test for BVDV (Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus) is required for each alpaca entering the show grounds, in addition to other health requirements. Microchips will be checked, and all health papers must include the alpaca’s name, microchip number and the negative PCR test results for BVDV along with the date of the test, the lab that performed the test and the testing method (PCR).
Alpacas from States that are TB/Brucellosis FREE:
1. Health Certificate (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) dated within 30 days of the last day of the show
2. A permit for entering the state should be obtained by calling (502) 564-3956.
3. Alpaca name and microchip number for each alpaca must be on the health certificate. Bring a copy of the health certificate for show superintendent to retain.
4. A Negative PCR test for BVDV (Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus) is required for each alpaca entering the show grounds, in addition to other health requirements. Microchips will be checked, and all health papers must include alpaca’s name, microchip number and the negative PCR test results for BVDV along with the date of the test, the lab that performed the test and the testing method (PCR).
Alpacas from States that are not TB/Brucellosis FREE:
1. Health Certificate (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection) dated within 30 days of the last day of the show
2. Negative TB test within 60 days for alpacas over 6 months of age
3. Negative Brucellosis blood test within 30 days for alpacas over 6 months of age
4. A permit for entering the state should be obtained by calling (502) 564-3956.
5. Alpaca name and microchip number for each alpaca must be on the health certificate. Bring a copy of the health certificate for show superintendent to retain.
